grass.hopper

Oh he hops and hops,
like a girl who shops;
He's hard to catch,
from patch to patch.
Like a rolling moss,
The wind does he toss;
There is no permanance,
True test of his patience.
Where will he go?
and what will he show,
When winter arrives -
He freezes, he dies?

l.o.v.e

Love is patient,
Love is kind,
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
It is not proud,
It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.

Love always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.

Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.

Love never ends.

Love never fails.

Corinthians 13:4-8

I was on the train when this most unkempt gentleman occupied the seat beside me. He whipped out a book - "The Ice Age" - or so it read. As he read his bookmark caught my eye, a black rectangular piece of laminated card which otherwise would have gone by unnoticed as any other commercial paper divider, except that it bore the words above. Though I never was much of a believer, these words rang true and struck every chord; they remind me that I should look upon this world with more compassion and hope, more belief in the milk of human kindness, and propagate this emotion of share and care to all around me.

an.inconvenient.truth

"....Intellectually Exhilarating. An Inconvenient Truth is a necessary film." A. O. Scott, The New York Times"

From director Davis Guggenheim comes the Sundance Film Festival hit, AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, which offers a passionate and inspirational look at one man's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress in its tracks by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. That man is former Vice President Al Gore, who, in the wake of defeat in the 2000 election, re-set the course of his life to focus on a last-ditch, all-out effort to help save the planet from irrevocable change.

I have never imagined Al Gore to be such an environmental activist. But beneath all that political undertones for the movie, I can only deal it due justice by saying that it is by far the most educational piece of entertainment that I have ever watched in a cinema seat. Go watch it. The end is nearer than it seems.

A good movie is best watched FREE, and with FREE pop-corn and drink to go. With a lovely Kitty subject to the same treatment too. =)

Overall, the movie is a must-watch and my rating is a high 9.5/10.

the.measure.of.a.man

Have you ever had one of those days when you felt like the most important person in the world?
Not in an honourable kind of way, but more in the way that everyone and everything needed your attention, and you wished you could clone yourself 256 times over to handle all of them?
Well technically this should only happen like once in a blue moon, or not even at all if you had the luxury of time, but recently it feels as though every single day is a good Samaritan day. I spend time at work trying to help the customers solve their problems, answer their queries, faciliate their applications, well that takes up majority of my time anyway. Then whatever remaining time is dedicated between family and and loved ones, time well spent. Except however, that there is no longer any 'ME' time - solitary confinement spent playing PlayStation for half a day, reading novels for 5 hours at a stretch - that sort of thing, save for the time spent sleeping alone.

Which begs the question - does self-worth stem from the presence, synergy and fulfillment of expectations of other people around you? Or is the yardstick held against how much you do for yourself?

r.e.d

Red.
The colour that I like.
Red.
Red car, Red train, red bike.

Since long forgotten, I have fallen for the colour of passion. Or it may be a sign of warning, of blood and rage; I sometimes wonder why it's not the colour for this page. (Perhaps soon.)

And now that I have my red soccer shoes, shoe bag, towel, mobile too...
It's wonderful to know that there are some
around the world who love red too.

Check out blog.red, and the world movement in join.red.

RED rocks.

red.mobile.day

Meet my new communicator, gateway to the world, clicker of the universe.
I'd agree that it isn't very sophisticated, but it's RED!
And when I see RED, my soft spot just gets softer.
And just look at how that floral wallpaper adds a touch of metrosexuality.

adi.color

Adidas created a film series celebrating color, customization and personal expression. Each director was given a blank canvas to create a short film based on their emotional and creative response to a given color - Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, Black or White. The seven directors are Roman Coppola; Andy Bruntel, Neill Blomkamp, PSYOP, TRONIC, Saiman Chow, Charlie White, and HAPPY.
Get a glimpse of the tinted films.
("White" has a particularly gratifying effect!) =P

He's not really my kind of comedian - but well here's an interesting piece, done right in the Parliament House...

And here's an amazing young lady with a repertoire of 'native' English accents - you really gotta hear this!

pretty.things

Was recently on some course.
Had to do up some 'artist's impressions' for some particular areas.
It was hard solitary work, especially since none of the rest in the team knew how to wield Photoshop properly.
But I realised something.
I miss creating beautiful things. =(
